Tom pulled into the marina. The taxi driver leaned over the back and Tom gave him the fare.
Cuba was as beautiful as he thought it would be. The sun was warm and the air filled his lungs with a clean warm feeling, which was nothing like the smoggy environment of LA. Tom was in heaven and it was only going to get better.
Jack was waiting on the boat when Tom arrived. The driver was a young man with a short beard who gave him an admiring gaze as Tom strode up the gangplank in his board shorts and Hawaiian shirt that hung a little open to reveal his tanned chest muscles.
“What took you so long? The guys are just about to arrive.”
Tom shrugged the flight here hadn’t been so bad, but he had been tied up at the airport getting his baggage. There was little he could do about it.
“Sorry. I had a few issues at the airport.”
“Fair enough.”
Jack gave him a kiss on the cheek and led him over to a small seat up front of the large ship.
“We are going to Heco Island. It’s a little out from Cuba.”
“What’s there to do there?”
