Romeo & Julian - A Story of Love & Hate by Aswad * Romeo & Julian - A Story of Love & Hate by Aswad * Jan. 20, 2012 $1.99 22703 words Sample 15%
Author bio:
I've seen a lot. Too much. How we treat each other as human beings seems to have fallen by the wayside as we gaze into our individual screens as we walk down the street. It seems more important to film somebody bleeding on the ground, than to help somebody bleeding on the ground. We are a society that puts locks on trash cans filled with food, and fines the unemployed and homeless for being unemployed and homeless. We attack and legislate against people who don't love, eat, dress or even sleep the same as we do. These are the types of stories I like to tell. These are the stories I think need to be told. I was gainfully employed until March 2009. I was the hardest working Temp in Portland, Or. from 2005 to 2009. Then I got "the call". Don't come back. No longer needed. Not going permanent. I spent all of the rest of the year and most of the next sending out resumes and going to the three interviews I got from them. No job. Then I go "the call" from the Unemployment Office. We can' renew you, you've been unemployed more than 99 weeks. After loosing my apartment, 95 % of everything I owned, 100% of my savings and my cat of 13 years (the only thing that mattered) I entered into a miasma of couch surfing and demeaning welfare appointments in Los Angeles. I asked myself; "Is this it? Is this what I worked all this time for?" I came in early, stayed late, wore a shirt and tie and my pants were pulled up! Why don't I have a job? I decided I wasn't taking this lying down. I'd written three ebooks, I could write more. I started an Internet Radio Show for the Unemployed; The New 99er on Blog Talk Radio. I will have a home again. I will have what I've always wanted. And what I've always wanted can't be outsourced. I don't do lazy.

Stevie is a Brit living in the Northwest of England and has recently been able to leave her day job behind – though it’s a quandary that there still doesn’t seem to be much more free time in her day! A long time avid reader of romance with a dash of adventure, Stevie only stumbled over ‘slash’ pairings a few years ago and was an immediate convert. Having dabbled with writing on and off for years, it wasn’t long before Stevie was tapping away on the keyboard inventing stories around two hot guys, gaining her first publication in the summer of 2007. Stevie likes reading stories with a good strong plot and believable characters and does her best to create them in her own work. Stevie has a soft spot for Historical settings but also thoroughly enjoys SF and Fantasy, Paranormal and Contemporary, finding the similarities as intriguing as the differences. Stevie already has a variety of novels, novellas and short stories released by Torquere Press, Phaze Books, MLR Press and Amber Quill Press. Author bio:
J. Tomas is a pseudonym, I'll admit it up front, under which I publish gay YA fiction. I write gay erotic romance as J.M. Snyder and publish non-gay fiction, nonfiction, and poetry as J.T. Marie. You can email me at jtomas@j-tomas.net. So who am I? A writer, a reader, a poet. A video game nerd ~ I heart Final Fantasy, Tomb Raider, and Legend of Zelda. A cat owner. A movie goer, music lover, boyband groupie. A queer author who remembers all too well the pains of high school, first love, and how it felt to ride the school bus when all the "cool" kids had their own car. Who knows what it's like to be different in a school of clones, to feel different, look different, act different. Who wants to put those feelings down on paper so others know they aren't alone. More specifically, I live in Virginia with two very spoiled cats. I have a day job that's not too bad, and I've always wanted to be a writer, so I write.

Lost Cowboy Moon Time by Madeira Desouza Lost Cowboy Moon Time by Madeira Desouza Jan. 25, 2012 Free! 24075 words Read a sample
Author bio:
I was born in the United States into a Portuguese-American culture dominated by the Roman Catholic Church. That culture showed no room for anything but macho and tough males, who were expected to produce babies after getting married to a subservient woman. In that culture, the more tough a man looked and acted, and the higher the number of offspring he generated earned him a higher perceived masculinity. Growing up in that culture ensured my social programming was to think that I was straight. Eventually, I discovered the truth that I am gay and then I had to redefine and remake myself. My formal university education was in journalism, which taught me the art and craft of storytelling, photography, news reporting, etc. In the professional context, I learned that telling a story is an essential ingredient if one wants to connect with an audience. I am unlike many gay authors. I tell stories and create illustrations about masculine men involved with one another to provoke the viewer. I have seen all my life how straight people do not like to see masculine men showing affection towards one another. Straight people will accept drag shows and comedies about effeminate gay men. And why not? Those are non-threatening. But, if masculine men are depicted in a story or images showing sexual interest in one another, oh boy, that suddenly becomes very threatening to straight people! Some gay men I have encountered also find it uncomfortable to witness masculine men showing sexual interest in one another. Gays relegate such masculine men to the pejorative category of being “too butch.” For all of these reasons, I choose to provoke the viewer in my stories and illustrations. Check out this URL where I have one page that provides an insider's tour of my time travel trilogy to help readers have a richer experience: http://mondomacho.com/men/stories/dare-not-ask-the-dead/author-comments/

Delaney by Chancery Stone Delaney by Chancery Stone Jan. 26, 2012 $0.99 80734 words Sample 5%
Author bio:
Chancery Stone likes wading about in darkness. She always has. Equally well, she loves the magical powers of redemption, particularly self-redemption. She has a particular fondness for heroes (of either sex) who don’t let anyone fuck with them. This does not involve kick-boxing, vampirism, government agencies or a sociopathic knowledge of firearms. Instead this involves going their own way, in their own time, to their own tune and realising that if God is watching it’s only to see if you’re one of the smart ones. Chancery Stone was born half a lifetime ago in a quaint Scottish fishing hamlet known as East Kilbride, where she would run wild and untrammelled about the hills, picking heather and singing in the Gaelic. In her spare time, between making moss dyes and raising nursling quails, she ran a child sex club. She was a child herself at this time, of course, and therefore has managed to evade the long arm of the law. At least thus far. The Dirty Club had a simple remit: sex, sex and more sex. Limited as it was by her age and ignorance, this chiefly involved urolagnia, exhibitionism, voyeurism, humiliation, bondage, homosexuality, frottage, fingering, nudism, paedophilia, ritualistic power games, domination, bullying, more humiliation and more urolagnia. In fact, altogether too much urolagnia. She was outed several times – by children to other children, and by adults who really didn’t like that sort of thing. Driven underground at the age of twelve she became a sad academic recluse and took up reading savage and horrific literature and absolutely anything with sex in it. Then there was wider reading. And yet more reading. And sick three-novels-a-day-habit style reading. And a lot of theatre. And then back to sex again – sex and more sex – extended by now to contain the more missionary and conventional forms thereof. Eventually she got sick of reading (but, somehow, never of sex) and decided to write instead, and then all of this life-strangely-lived started to spiral out of her, backwards, onto paper. We expect that once the DANNY Quadrilogy™ is finally done she will turn out some very interesting books in the vein of “Moss Dyeing for Beginners“ and “Quail Baby, Fly Away Home.” And after that there will be death.

Come and Go by Lee Harlem Robinson Come and Go by Lee Harlem Robinson Jan. 28, 2012 $2.99 58934 words Sample 15%
Author bio:
Lee Harlem Robinson is a fictional character created for the blog ‘Trying to Throw My Arms Around the World’ by Hannelore Arbyn. In daily blog posts, Lee narrates the story of how she ended up in Hong Kong. ‘Come and Go’ picks up where ‘Trying to Throw my Arms Around the World’ stops and describes Lee’s dramatic adventures in romance in ‘that other city that never sleeps’. Hannelore Arbyn is a thirty-three year old Belgian who moved to Hong Kong in the fall of 2010. In 2002 she started the lesbian entertainment blog ‘Dykes and the City’ and not long after founded the popular lesbian advice blog ‘The Lesbian Question’. After a blog hiatus of a few years, the withdrawal from dyke drama and the creation of lesbian entertainment became so unbearable, she plunged into the world of blog fiction and invented Lee Harlem Robinson. ‘Come and Go’ is her first novel.
