| Author bio: I'm a female writer and I live in the United Kingdom. I’m a staunch supporter of GLBTQ Rights and Marriage Equality. Love is an important aspect of the human experience and its free expression should not be denied to anyone. No one should be made to feel guilty or tormented simply for being in love or for being who they were created to be. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ If you're looking for a complex thriller, hardcore, heavily sexualised erotica, gritty gay realism, typical BDSM leather scenarios, a horror trip or a gory murder mystery then you've come to the wrong place. So, what the heck DO I write? In a nutshell - sweet, sassy, sensual gay discipline fiction ~ stories with a D/s twist More details: I don't write vanilla romance, classic spanking erotica or BDSM. My stories incorporate elements from all those mediums, but essentially belong to a sub group of romance/power exchange fiction often referred to as discipline romance fiction or discipline partnership fiction. Not everyone understands or 'gets' discipline fiction and that's fine. I don't 'get' prawn cocktail flavour crisps, but I uphold the right of people to eat them should their taste buds be wired that way. In discipline fiction the spanking scenes are not there to serve as a precursor to a sex scene. They illustrate the consensual submission of one partner to the authority of the other. It's a form of power exchange. I tend not to write the kind of stories usually associated with the romance genre. The kind where A meets B and they have some adventures/misunderstandings/ but eventually get together. The bulk of my stories tend to involve already established couples. It's just the way I like to write. While sex is certainly an aspect of my fiction it isn't the main focal point, so if you think of and enjoy M/M stories only in terms of heat level and detailed sex scenes then my fic probably won't be to yout taste. I tend to focus more on the emotional side of things and of course the discipline aspect. As well as being the vehicle by which I express my interest in discipline practices, my stories are about everyday relationships, situations, affection and love. They're quirky, warm hearted and sensitive with a liberal sprinkling of offbeat humor. They're entertaining, sometimes thought provoking and always observant of the human condition. I’ve been writing in this genre for over ten years. I have many theories as to why I’m drawn so strongly to this type of fiction. Perhaps it allows me to express aspects of my personality that would otherwise remain repressed. None of it really matters, I write what I like to write and that's it. :) ~I also write a series called 'The Stardust Diaries' under the name Tarn Swan. Find Tarn and Twinkles here on Smashwords or again visit my web page for more information.~ |

I’m marÂried with no kids and three cats, am a cycling nut (go Team Garmin!), and my day job involves artÂwork, crazy (read: incomÂpreÂhenÂsiÂbly fun) coworkÂers who speÂcialÂize in all kinds of media, and the occaÂsional strange cusÂtomer requests involvÂing papier mache fish with sparkly scales. I’m a writer of young adult ficÂtion, speÂcialÂizÂing in conÂtemÂpoÂrary fanÂtasy, hisÂtorÂiÂcal fanÂtasy, and hisÂtorÂiÂcal genÂres. My books range from a superÂhero fanÂtasy series to reworked folkÂtales to VicÂtoÂrian ghost ficÂtion. StartÂing 2011, I’ll be writÂing and pubÂlishÂing adult ficÂtion titles, all of which will be pretty much comÂpleÂments of my curÂrent YA backÂlist. Voraciously consuming every book in front of her opened up hundreds of worlds in her head, and she soon wanted to create worlds for other people as well. She has a particular fondness for gothic horror, horror, high fantasy, urban fantasy, and romance novels. The authors she turns to time and again are Stephen King, L.J. Smith, V.C. Andrews, R.L. Stine, and Anne Rice, among others. She has no shame in picking up the young adult novels she loved as a child, and she will talk your ear off about grammar and punctuation. After she married her husband almost thirteen years ago, she began to truly delve into the world of writing for public consumption. It was sheer chance that she stumbled on M/M fanfiction, and she's not looked back. Though fanfiction will always have a fond place in her heart, she soon grew tired of playing in other people's sandboxes. When she discovered M/M romance, and how it was now a legitimate branch of romance writing, she knew her course. S.L. plans to release F/F, M/M, M/F, and multiple partner books as she continues her writing career. M/M romance is where her heart lies, no matter what else she may write or read, and it's where she keeps returning to. There is something about two men passionately in love that just makes her heart melt, and she has no intention of giving that up anytime soon. S.L. Armstrong lives in Florida with her husband, two dogs, and seven cats. She hates the heat and longs for a northern, snowy climate. She writes with K. Piet on a number of projects, but she also writes her own solitary titles as well. S.L. Armstrong owns Storm Moon Press LLC along with her husband and K. Piet, and she is proud of all they accomplish with the micro press. |
