EndGame | by Nikki Dorakis May 08, 2012 | $5.00 | 97746 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: I have been writing on and off for a number of years, drawing on my spiritual beliefs and folk tales I have heard from around the world during my mad pretend-hippy days of back-packing around the globe. I finally became a responsible adult (after living in a bus like a refugee from a Cliff Richard movie) and settled back on the Isle of Wight. I took up work as a psychiatric nurse and this always took precedence until at the ripe old age of fifty-five, I decided to retire and go part-time so that I could finally work on the books I have been writing over the years. I am a Pagan priest and an ordained minister of the Church of Spiritual Humanism. I write for pleasure and now I want to share that pleasure with you. I hope these books bring you as much enjoyment in the reading of them as they have given me in the writing of them. |

Resurrection Sticks | by Kelli Jae Baeli April 25, 2012 | $3.99 | 29811 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: *All Books unavailable here in standard ebook formats, can be had at the author's site in PDF format.* Baeli was born to spin a yarn. The daughter of a professional musician, she arrived in Wichita and began her journey with a song in her heart and a plethora of passion erupting from her pen. This love of lyrics, prose and poetry was just the simple seed of what would grow into a wordsmith's obsession with the creation of multifarious characters and storylines that fork with dual plot lines into romance and intrigue. Oklahoma, Arkansas and Colorado are just a few locales that surface in Baeli's novels as these places are ones she drank in from her time in University, to retreating for self exploration. Each place is rich in bucolic terrain and provided grand palettes for her mysteries and suspenseful romances. Townies and their coveted colloquialisms provided divine fodder for tales too real to be true. There is nothing like experience to craft a character. Baeli has plenty to spare—from a stint in the military to late nights spent delivering newspapers, waiting tables, or as a technical writer for a corporate jet company. Each job was a necessity, but one that Baeli turned into a study in the human condition or sometimes inhumane conditions. Some of Baeli's fondest endeavors were fronting an all female band for seven years in Little Rock and her enjoyable time as a managing editor for a women's press. In recent years, Baeli has pursued technology with a dedicated passion. Website building, blogging and creating and maintaining online forums have shared the docket with her ever-present story crafting. Baeli has relied on her technical writing roots and expanded her repertoire, enabling her to edit for herself and other writers, both accomplished and aspiring. With over 200 song writing credits and 26 books to her credit, Kelli Jae Baeli shows no signs of wear. She has returned to her beloved Colorado where she may be found amongst the Denverites, people-watching over coffee and conversation, awaiting the next story to inspire and entrance. (~Justice Harlow) The author can be followed on Twitter @JaeBaeli. Reader and Professional reviews, as well as Feedback, Praises, and First-Born Children, are cheerfully accepted via her website, jaebaeli.com. |

Black And Blue, The Blue Series Volume 3 | by Josephine Dillon April 20, 2012 | Free! | 207414 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Josephine Dillon was born March 9th, 1969 in Kenitra, Morocco, to parents Patricia and Eugene Godfrey. She grew up in Oceanside, one of the northern suburbs of San Diego, California, graduating from Vista High School. She later attended San Diego State University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in nursing. She has been a registered nurse since graduating in 1995, working in the profession for the past sixteen years. As a novice writer, I wrote the first three books from The Blue Series during the years 2006 through 2009 and am currently writing the fourth and final book in the series. The story was created in the early 1980's, when I was a young teenager. These novels are my first work of fiction. Please note that all the characters and story are fictional and only a few isolated incidents paralleled my existence at the time. The Irish Setter Reuben, the high school, and the home address were all from my childhood and not fictional. I attended and graduated from Vista High School, (survived is more like it), and I lived and grew up in Oceanside. The failed attempt to drown was my experience, and I will admit to wanting desperately to be a boy when I was growing up. Along with that, I also had a very vivid imagination. My family, however, were not at all similiar to the Smiths - I had loving, caring, nonjudgemental parents who adored me. Hope you enjoy the book but most importantly for new writers like me, please write a review? Even if the book did not appeal to you, could you state why? I would really appreciate it. To those readers who braved a download of Beyond The Blue Part 1 and 2, please make sure to download the latest versions. I found a huge mistake in the sequencing of the chapters in the book and would appreciate it if my readers could download it again (it's free!) so that they can read it the way it should be read. This book was just too big to be a single work, which is why I spliced it, however in doing so, I made a mistake in the timing of the story. I hope you enjoy Beyond The Blue Part 1 and Part 2. Part 2 is for adult readers only and I've chosen to make it free because I want to write for the fun of it. If you catch grammatical errors, I apologize, but since I am my own editor, please forgive me. I am currently editing my third book, Black and Blue and it's another beast, 600 pages long. I'm editing slowly in my free time but it's tedious. If you would like me to split it up into two parts like I did the second book, then send me an email or write on my facebook page. I am also currently writing the fourth book, about 150 pages into it. Please write me reviews? I thrive on it and enjoy reading your thoughts. Or post a comment on my facebook page. This is my hobby and I will continue to allow downloads of my books for free to Smashword readers. If you want a printed copy, I am currently at Off The Book Shelf, but that will cost you because I only get a small percentage of the profit and can't set the price. I might look into Create A Space instead if it will save the reader money. We'll see what happens, til then, happy reading. |

I Should Have Known | by Karin Bishop March 22, 2012 | $4.99 | 160006 words | Sample 10% |
| Author bio: I write for the joy of meeting new people--my characters--and learning what happens to them. I'm very interested in the discovery of a person's true nature and sexual identity, and exploring different genres and structure. I have been writing since ...ever. I won my first national writing award in sixth grade (a small, dusty trophy in a hutch at my mother's). Like many authors, I edited and contributed to my high school and college creative writing magazines, then life got in the way and didn't write for years. Flash forward and I sold some magazine articles in fields I was interested in (music and travel) and all over again, I fell in love with watching words appear on the screen. More to the point, I fell in love with characters appearing on my screen, moving and breathing and living on their own. I fell in love with setting things up, and watching what happens. I hope you will enjoy sharing their journey! Karin |

From the moment I turned four, she pushed me onto the stage to perform, starting at the Grange Hall and progressing to more sophisticated venues until by the time I reached ten, I played a concerto with SYU orchestra. Sixteen years zoomed by. Korea, the US Air Force, then the boring bio stuff i.e. University of the Pacific, classes at the Juilliard, eighteen years teaching in Canada, conducting piano master classes at Universities, move to La Jolla, got bored with teaching, became a successful abstract artist, endured four strokes, no more painting, no more piano playing, and guess what I'm doing now? Within the Silence | by C S McClellan March 01, 2012 | $1.99 | 16223 words | Sample 25% |
| Author bio: I'm a blogger and fledgling novelist. My first completed novel, Hidden Boundaries, a Novel of Slavery, explores personal conflicts and relationships in the context of unequal power. It's psychologically driven, with an undercurrent of romance that builds subtly and slowly. The two protagonists are a slaveowner and the young man who becomes his slave. Unlike most novels with a male owner and male slave, Hidden Boundaries is not about BDSM or erotica. My fiction is concerned primarily with issues of personal freedom. My settings are either slave societies or societies in which the question of personal freedom is increasingly tied to extreme political, economic, and social changes. I also blog about writing and reading, with occasional reviews of self-published books. If you'd like to know more about my stories and read some samples, visit Dark Boundaries. |
